Ray is the Business Development Coordinator of the Insolvency, Restructuring & Creditors' Rights group, which consists of over 20 attorneys in Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas. He has 20 years of experience in Chapter 11 reorganizations and non-bankruptcy business restructurings. His experience includes the representation of debtors, lenders, various types of unsecured creditors, creditors' committees, landlords, insurance companies, parties to complex executory contracts and most recently, the representation of equity funds in Chapter 11 cases and non-bankruptcy workouts. Ray represents several Fortune 100 corporations in various types of bankruptcy matters throughout the United States and internationally. These clients are in manufacturing, technology, telecommunications and business processing. Ray also has substantial bankruptcy litigation experience, avoidance action litigation, officer and director litigation, executory contract litigation and the representation of Chapter 7 and 11 trustees in a variety of litigation matters. Ray has participated in numerous large Chapter 11 cases including more recent engagements such as: - Representation of numerous creditor committees in larger business bankruptcy cases including recently the Chapter 11 case of Home Interiors and Gifts, Inc.
- Representation of a global outsourcing company in complex executory contract disputes, negotiations and litigation including in the Delphi Corporation and Washington Mutual, Inc. bankruptcy cases.
- Representation of Chapter 11 trustees in business reorganization and liquidation cases including the current representation of the Chapter 11 trustee in the Ondova Limited Company bankruptcy case in Dallas, Texas.
- Representation of a telecommunications manufacturer in its Chapter 11 case in the Eastern District of Texas.
- Representation of an oil and gas exploration company in an out of court restructure.
- Representation in a Chapter 11 case of the purchaser of a chain of retail music centers.
- Representation of a large franchise restaurant operation in general corporate and litigation matters.
- Representation of a restaurant chain in a Chapter 11 reorganization.
- Representation of creditors' committees in recent cases involving office products manufacturing, carpeting manufacturing, a computer systems distributor, a school bus manufacturing company, and a chemical sales and distribution company.
- Chapter 11 representation of the purchaser of a health care business operation consisting of multiple retail pharmacies and infusion centers.
- Representation in a Chapter 11 case of the purchaser of an education web site for students and educators.
