Overview

Rick was the former Section Head of the firm’s Real Estate group, which consists of over 25 attorneys in Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas. His practice focuses on commercial transactions, acquisition, development and financing of multifamily residential projects, acquisition and disposition of land and income producing properties and build-to-suit commercial and retail lease negotiations.

Among the matters on which Rick has provided advice are development, financing, acquisition, leasing and sale of more than 30,000 multifamily residential units (luxury and student related); development, financing and leasing of Williams Square, a 1.4 million square feet, high-end office building in Las Colinas, Texas; development, financing and management of luxury hotel/resorts; sale of a 14 property multifamily portfolio; sale of an eight property industrial portfolio; acquisition of several high-end homes in the Avon/Beaver Creek, Colorado area; acquisition of a 450 acre horse farm; plus additional acreage acquisitions in Lexington, Kentucky and development, financing and leasing of build-to-suit facilities (on both the landlord and tenant sides).

Prior to joining Munsch Hardt in 1993, Rick practiced for six years in the Dallas branch of a Houston based law firm; spent 10 years as a member of the in-house counsel staff of Las Colinas, a 13,000 acre premier office/residential development located in Irving, Texas; worked for four years as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas and immediately after graduating from law school, was a lawyer in a small firm with a general practice.
