Robert (Bob) H. Voelker
Shareholder Overview
Bob is the Business Development Coordinator of the firm's Real Estate group, which consists of over 25 attorneys in Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas. His practice emphasis is on complex development projects including mixed-use, hotel, condominiums and office or office/warehouse. His educational and professional background as a CPA, tax attorney, real estate attorney and multifamily real estate developer coupled with his prior legal and business involvement with multifaceted public/private projects with layered debt and equity financing, allow for a unique ability to organize, manage and facilitate the most complex mixed-use new construction and adaptive reuse developments including hotel/condominium/retail/entertainment projects and transportation oriented developments, in conjunction with local revitalization incentives involving public and private funding. Bob has also been actively involved in fair housing litigation over the last 15 years, assisting developers when cities deny them the right to build affordable housing. Bob has represented W Hollywood Hotel & Condominiums, design/build and construction contracts for Fluor's new corporate headquarters in Las Colinas, Texas, Downtown Dallas Center for Higher Education as adaptive reuse of historic department store, tax exempt bond and low income and historic tax credit financing and state and local subordinate loans, acquisition/disposition and debt/equity financing for income producing real estate. He has also recently represented developers in Texas and Louisiana who have been stymied in their efforts to develop affordable housing due to moratoria, denial of rezoning and refusal to provide financial or political support.
