1. The Mental Workout: Being an attorney, especially a new attorney, has given me the opportunity to constantly learn, not just about the law and legal procedure but about the industries and businesses of the Texas clients I serve. A broad and diverse client base leads to a broad and diverse work experience, and that is something special about being a Texas attorney that I do not take for granted.
2. The Work Environment: Working at a law firm has given me the privilege of knowing incredibly intelligent, experienced and creative attorneys and a deep appreciation for a support staff made up of dedicated, focused and driven individuals who constantly inspire and motivate me to achieve at the highest level possible.
3. Flexibility: Technology and the practical approach of my supervisors allow me to focus on clients’ legal issues and not be handcuffed by logistical limitations. I love that I can work on a project at any time, from any place, in whatever way allows me to most effectively get the job done.
4. Taking Pride in What I Do: As attorneys we spend our time interacting predominantly with fellow attorneys. This constant immersion in legal “society” can make our jobs seem commonplace, and it becomes easy to forget that being part of this profession is something to be proud of— something to appreciate. Getting to be an attorney in Texas is just icing on the cake.
5. The Way We Talk: Heretofore, the effective conversion of quotidian and circadian language by or through superannuated, hypertechnical and intentionally bewildering articulations or proxies thereof, in the furtherance of maximum ineffectiveness and confusion, forthwith achieving tacit incomprehension and befuddlement upon any and all abecedarian audiences who may hope, albeit vainly so, to glean even the most infinitesimal quantum of percipience therefrom.
