The Munsch Hardt Development & Construction group includes attorneys who are experienced in the representation of owners and developers in the development and construction of office buildings, industrial projects, retail centers, multifamily projects, condominium projects, hospitality and resort projects, mixed-use developments, seniors' housing facilities, medical facilities and other real estate assets. We also have substantial experience in the development of single family residential subdivisions.

Several of our development and construction attorneys have direct experience as real estate developers or as in-house counsel to real estate development companies. They understand and can anticipate the day-to-day issues that are likely to arise during the development and construction process. We handle development agreements, construction contracts and other agreements that arise in a typical development project as well as related matters such as entitlements. By working closely with our clients to identify and implement prudent legal steps for each stage of negotiation, we offer practical solutions to expedite and close development and construction transactions.

Of particular note, the Munsch Hardt Development & Construction group includes one of the foremost experts on real estate insurance in the state of Texas. Insurance issues are often paramount in development and construction contract negotiations and we are accordingly well equipped to guide our clients through this process. Also, several Munsch Hardt clients are active developers of office, industrial and other projects on a build-to-suit basis using fast track construction methods. We are experienced in dealing with the special issues presented by these developments.

  • Representation of a developer in the acquisition and development of six Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified office buildings containing approximately 1 million square feet located in Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas and Houston, Texas; Fort Mill, South Carolina; Tampa, Florida and Riverside, California.
  • Representation of a hotel developer in the development of a $650 million hotel/condominium/apartment project in Los Angeles, California.
  • Representation of a developer in a build-to-suit development and lease of a 150,000 square foot warehouse/office project for a Fortune 500 corporation at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
  • Representation of one of the country's largest and most active multifamily developers in the development of luxury and off-campus student housing products across the United States.
