May 30, 2017

Munsch Hardt is pleased to announce highly regarded oil and gas attorney Russell Miller joined the Firm as a Shareholder in its Houston office on Tuesday, May 30. Miller maintains both an active energy transactional practice and a general litigation practice, with an emphasis on disputes related to the oil and gas industry.

“Russ is an all-around talented attorney with impressive experience,” said Phil Appenzeller, CEO of Munsch Hardt. “Having served in-house for some well-known, international energy companies, Russ brings a unique perspective that will be invaluable in helping our clients stay ahead of the curve. We are looking forward to discovering the natural synergies between his energy practice and the firm’s current energy capabilities, which excels in providing sophisticated legal counsel to clients in all facets of the evolving sector.”

Most recently, Miller served as the owner of a practice, Miller Legal Offices, representing privately held and publicly traded companies participating in all segments of the oil and gas industry. Prior to that, his legal career led him to serve as a Partner in the Houston office of a major national law firm; as In-House Counsel with both The Coastal Corporation and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, and as Of Counsel with a regional Denver-based law firm that specializes in serving the energy industry.

“I am extremely honored to be joining Munsch Hardt and look forward to working on high-impact cases for clients in Texas and throughout the country,” said Miller. “Absorbing my personally owned practice into Munsch Hardt is the best next for my clients and my professional development. It allows me to keep a reasonable billing structure while adding a full-service platform that my clients can access when needed. I am confident this is going to be a great partnership.”

Miller received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and a Bachelor of Science with honors from the University of Texas. He has served as President of Houston’s Association of Corporate Council, President of The Montgomery County Youth Soccer Association and on the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Bar Association.
