Munsch Hardt Names New Section Head for Real Estate

Chip Cavanaugh, a shareholder of Dallas-based Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C., has been named Chair of the firm’s real estate practice. Chip represents real estate, hospitality and healthcare companies, including REITs and private equity funds, with respect to a variety of real estate, corporate/securities, and general business matters.

Chip has a unique combination of both real estate and corporate/securities experience, having worked as an attorney as well as with a private equity firm as a principal. While in this role, Chip handled public and private investment, securities and M&A transactions from both a business and a legal perspective.

Chip earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School where he was Associate Editor of the Notre Dame Law Review. Chip is a member of the Real Estate Council where he serves as a Director of the Real Estate Council Foundation. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Dallas Bar Association. He was named among Texas Super Lawyers by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2003, 2004 and 2005, and the Best Lawyers in America and the Best Lawyers in Dallas in 2007.

As Section Head, Chip will oversee the strategic direction for the practice, including business development and attorney recruiting.
