Overview

John has more than 40 years of extensive experience in both litigation and transactional matters. On the litigation side, he has appeared before forums as diverse as the United States Supreme Court, the New York City Human Rights Commission, the Maine Securities Board, and civil trial and bankruptcy courts around the country, including state and federal courts in Maine, New Jersey, New York and Florida in the East and Texas, Colorado and California in the West. In the transaction arena, he has worked on complex financings around the world, complicated workouts and debt restructures, corporate takeovers, mergers and acquisitions and public and private securities offerings.

In addition to the courts of the States of Texas and New York, John is admitted to practice before the (i) United States Supreme Court, (ii) United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fifth and Federal Circuits, (iii) United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, (iv) the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, (v) the District of Colorado and (vi) the Northern District of California.

When working on cases, John enjoys the intellectual challenge of dealing with complex legal and factual scenarios for which there is no clear answer. His clients frequently appreciate that he is empathetic and works vigorously for their best interests.

John and his beautiful wife, Carol, live in Houston, Texas.
