Overview

Katya’s practice focuses on corporate, regulatory and data security issues related to the health care field. She regularly advises clients on potential security risks, drafts incident response plans that comply with state and federal laws, and has significant experience navigating the incident response process for health care entities. She has defended health systems, hospitals and health plans in regulatory investigations brought by the HHS OCR, attorneys general, departments of health and departments of insurance. Having served as in-house counsel to two international media companies in Moscow, Russia for more than a decade, Katya understands her clients’ perspectives and is able to provide a practical approach and innovative solutions to her clients.

Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Katya was a health care privacy and compliance associate at a national law firm. She also previously served as an intern with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and was a clerk for a Houston-based law firm where she assisted with handling Qui Tam litigation under the False Claims Act.
