Overview

From his experience working in government and at an international law firm, Randall provides a unique perspective in advising clients on complex litigation matters at the trial and appellate levels. He has obtained successful outcomes at all stages of litigation for a wide range of clients, including state agencies, universities and Fortune 500 companies. His litigation experience covers a variety of subject areas, including antitrust, employment, energy, contract, tort and constitutional law.

Randall represents states and state entities seeking outside counsel, including in his role as Special Deputy Attorney General for the State of Idaho. He draws from his past experience as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas where he defended state agencies, state universities and state officials in both state and federal court. At the trial level, he served as lead counsel on a number of cases in which he successfully defended Texas laws against equal protection challenges and secured early dismissals for state entities and state officials based on sovereign immunity. At the appellate level, Randall obtained a unanimous decision from a Texas court of appeals on behalf of a Texas university facing employment discrimination claims.

Immediately prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Randall was a partner at one of the most prestigious international law firms in the world. In this role, Randall served as appellate counsel for an international beverage importer accused of breaching its contract and class action defense counsel for a pharmaceutical company facing antitrust, consumer protection and deceptive trade practices claims. He also advised Fortune 500 companies on compliance questions related to the Texas anti-boycott laws. 

Randall had the honor of serving as the first law clerk to both Judge Lawrence VanDyke on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Through these experiences, Randall became intimately familiar with the inner workings of these courts.
