Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr PC is bringing on an experienced employment litigator in Dallas from regional firm Hallett & Perrin PC.

Monte Hurst, who officially joins the firm as a shareholder on Monday, has more than three decades of experience representing employers in disputes, including claims of discrimination and retaliation, wage and hour issues, breach of contract, defamation, fraud and fiduciary breaches, the firm said in a statement. Hurst also has expertise handling matters that touch on the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the firm said.

Hurst said Monday in an email to Law360 Pulse, "Joining Munsch Hardt presents a significant opportunity for my practice and the employers I represent."

"The firm's strength in serving middle-market businesses across Texas aligns naturally with my focus on helping management navigate complex workplace disputes and compliance challenges," Hurst said. "Munsch Hardt's full-service platform allows me to collaborate across practices when employment matters intersect with corporate transactions, litigation, or regulatory issues."

Hurst counsels management teams and in-house legal departments on compliance strategies meant to reduce risk and support a client's business objectives, the firm said. He provides guidance on employee discipline and termination decisions, workplace investigations and executive compensation.

Hurst's practice also involves providing management training on harassment prevention, documentation best practices and changes in workplace requirements, the firm said.

"Monte brings decades of experience advising businesses on day-to-day employment challenges and defending them when disputes arise," E. David Coligado, CEO of Munsch Hardt, said in a statement. "His practical, business-focused approach aligns seamlessly with how we serve our clients."

Hurst practiced at Hallett & Perrin for nearly 11 years, his LinkedIn profile shows, and at Hermes Sargent Bates LLP for over 15 years.

Hurst is certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He earned his law degree from the South Texas College of Law Houston and holds a bachelor's degree from Tulane University. is bringing on an experienced employment litigator in Dallas from regional firm Hallett & Perrin PC.
