Stephen is a seasoned litigator with significant experience representing clients in complex securities, financial services and commercial disputes. Stephen also serves as Practice Leader of the Firm’s Securities Litigation + Governmental Investigations group. With a particular focus on the financial industry, he routinely represents investors, companies, financial institutions, investment firms, broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, asset managers and corporate officers in high-stakes litigation and regulatory investigations.

Stephen’s practice also extends to high-value commercial, real estate, non-compete, business divorce and intellectual property disputes, particularly those involving sophisticated financial or technical issues. He is recognized for his strategic judgment, precise legal analysis and ability to craft litigation strategies that align with his clients’ legal and business objectives.

In addition to his litigation practice, Stephen is committed to public service, with a focus on disability advocacy. He serves as a Commissioner on the City of Dallas Commission on Disabilities and previously chaired the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation, which provides financial support to nonprofit organizations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

  • Securities + Governmental Investigation

    Represented a group of broker-dealers and registered investment advisors in a lawsuit seeking rescission of $1.8 B in investments made by a putative class of investors in an alleged Ponzi scheme.

  • Securities + Governmental Investigation

    Successfully obtained the dismissal of a FINRA arbitration brought by a customer seeking more than $41 MM against a registered representative of a prominent financial institution.

  • Securities + Governmental Investigation

    Obtained a seven-figure resolution in a lawsuit on behalf of a group of investors asserting claims against a Dallas-based technology company for common law fraud, breach of contract and violations of the Texas Securities Act.
