Dallas energy transactions lawyer Clifton Squibb has departed the firm he cofounded for Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, the firm announced on Tuesday.

Squibb specializes in representing energy companies and investors in middle-market transactional matters. He works with clients ranging from exploration and production companies to individual landowners.

As clients have considered new opportunities in the energy transition, Squibb has advised on lithium exploration, geothermal concepts, carbon mitigation and solar development.

The SMU Dedman School of Law graduate has practiced for the last 15-plus years at Hamilton Squibb & Shores.

“When Rhodes Hamilton and I co-founded the firm in 2008, we entertained only the most abstract of goals and expectations. At the time, the notion of surviving for 15 years would have struck me as an unqualified success. And so it has been, except that we have thrived, rather than merely survived. I leave the firm in able hands and wish them all the best,” Squibb reflected in a LinkedIn post.

Hamilton, replying to Squibb’s post, wished his former colleague well.

“Onward and upward, my friend,” he said. “It has been a privilege to experience this ride with you. 15 years was more than I could have ever imagined when we first started out with a couple of desktops and legal pads. Excited for what’s to come for you and your family. You will be missed, but excited for the next chapter ahead for you and for Hamilton Shores.”
