Munsch Hardt Shareholder Claire Carroll authored a recent commentary for The Dallas Morning News examining how Texas can balance the need for significant new electric transmission infrastructure with the potential impact on landowners.
Carroll writes that Texas is undertaking a major expansion of its electric grid as population growth, industrial development, oil and gas activity, and rapidly increasing demand from large data centers put new pressure on the state’s existing transmission system.
“The state’s task is to build a transmission system capable of supporting Texas’ next several decades of growth while ensuring that the Texans being asked to bear the physical burden of that infrastructure have a meaningful opportunity to be heard,” she writes.
