Melanie focuses her practice on representing employers in a wide range of labor and employment matters. Her experience includes assisting clients with employment-related disputes involving discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, employee agreements, and other workplace matters. She works with employers across various industries, helping them navigate litigation, administrative proceedings, and day-to-day employment challenges while developing practical strategies that align with their business objectives.
While in law school, Melanie served as a legal intern to the National Labor Relations Board in Houston, which gave her hands-on experience with unfair labor practice investigations. She also served as a legal intern at the Equal Justice Center in Austin, where she worked on FLSA and Title VII claims.
Melanie’s practice is informed by a unique professional background that spans both law and international governance. Prior to the practice of law, Melanie lived and worked overseas for several years, supporting democratic reform and constitutional development initiatives in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Her experience working with government officials, international organizations, and stakeholders across diverse jurisdictions provides a valuable perspective when handling matters involving overseas employment and government contractor operations.
