Overview

Melissa’s practice focuses on commercial real estate, business and financing transactions. Over the course of her career, Melissa has represented and counseled various state and federally chartered banks and other financial institutions, commercial real estate investors and developers, and entrepreneurs.

Melissa has extensive experience representing commercial banks and other lenders on a variety of complex financing transactions, including (i) senior and subordinated debt transactions; (ii) commercial real estate loans involving all types of properties (including medical office buildings, assisted living facilities, multifamily projects, mixed-use developments and condominium regimes); (iii) development loans (including single-family residential and commercial lot developments); (iv) construction loans; (v) multi-state transactions; (vi) purchase-money loans; (vii) hotel loans; (viii) leasehold mortgage financing; (ix) loans secured by notes receivable; (x) revolving and general lines of credit; (xi) other C&I lending transactions; and (xii) loan modifications, renewals and extensions. 

In addition, Melissa represents clients in connection with the acquisition, disposition, leasing and management of commercial properties (office, retail and industrial), including owner-occupied, single-tenant and multi-tenant properties, as well as ground lease transactions. She also has experience with corporate transactions, including the preparation and negotiation of business contracts, the formation and structuring of closely held businesses, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
