Firm continues strong growth track with six new Associates
Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. (Munsch Hardt) is pleased to welcome six first year associates – Jay D. Evans, Jonathan Harlan Harper, Isabelle Hutchinson, Katherine Jones and Trey Proffitt have joined the Firm in Dallas; and Nick Beekhuizen has joined the Firm in Houston.

Nicholas “Nick” Beekhuizen: Litigation – Houston
Beekhuizen’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on business disputes and appeals. In law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Miami International & Comparative Law Review, was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award and was the recipient of both the Marco A. Vasquez Memorial Scholarship and the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. Before joining Munsch Hardt, Beekhuizen clerked for Judge Melanie May at the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeals. He also interned for Judge Lauren Louis at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office and the largest law firm in the state of Florida. He received his undergraduate degree at Florida State University and is a licensed attorney in both Florida and Texas.
Jay D. Evans: Litigation – Dallas
Evans is a member of the Firm’s Litigation practice. He received his Juris Doctor from the Texas Tech University School of Law, where he was ranked 2nd in his class. While in law school, Evans served as Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Tech Law Review and was a part of Tech’s National Champion team for the 2021 National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Evans served as a Summer Associate in Munsch Hardt’s Dallas office and as a Summer Law Clerk for the Texas Indigent Defense Commission. Evans also holds a Masters in Real Estate Development from Georgetown University and earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University.
Jonathan H. Harper: Corporate – Dallas
Harper is a member of the Firm’s Corporate practice. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was Articles Editor of the Texas Review of Law & Politics. Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Harper served as a Summer Associate for the Dallas office of a prominent, international law firm. He also interned for both the Honorable Jennifer Elrod, United States Court of Appeals of the Fifth Circuit in Houston, and the Honorable Brantley Starr, United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas in Dallas. Harper earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Finance and the Business Honors Program.
Isabelle Hutchinson: Litigation – Dallas
Hutchinson is a member of the Firm’s Litigation practice. She received her Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude and served as the Managing Editor of the Law Review. Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Hutchinson clerked for the Honorable Marcia A. Crone, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, Beaumont Division, and the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant, III, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division. While in law school, she also interned with the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office and was a student attorney at the Texas A&M Immigrant Rights Clinic. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member and Captain of the Razorback Marching Band Color Guard.
Katherine E. Jones: Real Estate – Dallas
Jones is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate practice. She received her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where she was a Dean’s scholarship recipient and an Associate Member of the Small Business and Trademark Clinic providing pro bono services to local businesses and non-profits. Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Jones gained in-house experience as a legal intern at PrimeLending and was part of the externship program at the George W. Bush Presidential Center Legal Department. She earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a Finance focus, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Law and Legal Reasoning.
Trey M. Proffitt: Real Estate – Dallas
Proffitt is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate practice. He received his Juris Doctor from the Southern Methodist University School of Law, graduating in the top 25% of his class. While in law school, he was a Case Note and Comment Editor for the Internal Law Review Association, and was the 2020 Best Case Note Winner, published in The International Lawyer. Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, he clerked for three Dallas-area law firms and completed an externship with Centurion American. Proffitt received his undergraduate degree from Hardin-Simmons University where he played on the football team and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Behavioral Science in Political Science.
