Overview

Sophie is an Associate at Munsch Hardt focusing her practice on corporate finance, securities, and mergers & acquisitions. She advises both domestic and international clients, including financial institutions, investment funds, investment managers, business development companies, and high-net-worth individuals. Sophie represents private equity sponsors and portfolio companies in complex M&A transactions, guides start-ups through all stages of growth, and structures and forms investment funds. She regularly assists with U.S. and cross-border entity formations, including establishing foreign businesses in the United States, and counsels on the capital side of transactions by drafting and negotiating financing and investment documents.

Sophie’s experience spans a wide range of financial transactions, including asset-based lending, structured finance, syndicated finance, restructurings, and other general corporate matters. Fluent in Mandarin, Sophie has also assisted numerous Chinese companies in establishing and expanding their operations in the United States, as well as U.S. clients seeking to navigate business opportunities and investments in China.

Prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Sophie served as an associate at a Texas-based law firm working on corporate matters. While in law school, she served as the Articles and Editor of the International Law Review Association and was the Clinic Chief for the SMU Federal Income Tax Clinic.
