Overview

Connor is a construction attorney who represents owners, developers, general contractors and design professionals in all stages of the construction process. He regularly advises and assists clients with drafting, negotiating and administering contracts for use in the design and construction of commercial, industrial, energy, public works, multifamily and master-planned community projects throughout Texas, across the United States and internationally. He is also experienced in developing design, consulting and construction contract forms and other ancillary construction documents for owners, developers and general contractors, including experience with creating master service agreements, material and equipment purchase orders, and other specific manuscript contract forms necessary for specialized scopes of work.

In addition to construction transactions, Connor also regularly represents project owners, commercial developers and general contractors in construction disputes, both in court and arbitration, regarding a wide range of matters such as construction and design defect claims, delay and disruption claims, payment claims, breach of contract claims, and mechanic’s lien and bond claims.

Connor has significant hands-on experience gained from working directly for a leading global real estate developer and investment manager, where he routinely negotiated construction, design and professional service agreements for projects across North America. His daily collaboration with the development, risk and compliance teams regarding both general and jurisdictionally-specific contractual risk, contract interpretation, insurance coverage, dispute resolution and compliance requirements provides him with a greater understanding and unique perspective of the legal and practical risks facing different parties to a construction project.
