Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. (Munsch Hardt) is pleased to announce Real Estate Shareholder Michael Franklin relocated his robust practice from Dallas to the Firm's Austin office this month. Franklin’s practice focuses heavily on commercial real estate, commercial lending and general business transactions.
“After traveling back and forth between Austin and Dallas for the past five years, I am excited to now be rooted full-time in Austin,” said Franklin. “Austin continues to be recognized as one of the fastest growing cities in the country for business, allowing our team to represent local clients and clients considering relocating to the Central Texas area. The real estate market continues to grow, offering a plethora of opportunities to provide our clients with the highest level of legal expertise in this space and I’m excited to play a role in this expansion.”
As Franklin increases Munsch Hardt’s presence within the Austin real estate community, he will continue to represent landlords and tenants in industrial, office and retail/restaurant leasing. He also works with borrowers, lenders and other secured parties in asset-based lending, revolving and non-revolving lines of credit, modifications and workouts, as well as the foreclosures of real and personal property.
Real Estate Shareholder and Munsch Hardt Board Member Aryn Self splits her time between the Firm’s Dallas and Austin offices. She is head of the Firm’s multifamily practice and represents clients in Austin and around the country in various stages of the development of multifamily projects, retail centers, mixed-use and condominiums and office buildings. Self has been another driving force in the expansion of the Firm’s Austin Real Estate practice.
Also resident in Austin is Real Estate Associate Scott Smith who transferred from the Firm’s Dallas office to its Austin office in 2022. Smith’s practice focuses on providing local, regional and international real estate clients with practical and efficient counsel in all aspects of negotiating and closing complex commercial real estate transactions. He is also actively involved in the Austin chapter of NAIOP and the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA).
“Michael’s expertise in the real estate practice is unmatched,” said David Coligado, Munsch Hardt’s Real Estate Section Head. “With a strong team of attorneys in Austin, paired with the resources and capabilities of the entire Munsch Hardt Real Estate Section, one of the largest real estate practices in the state, Michael will be an invaluable member of our Austin office. While his presence will be missed in Dallas, we are confident in his continued success and strong contributions to the Austin real estate profession.”
