Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr PC has fortified its construction practice group with a former Griffith Davison PC attorney in Dallas who brings more than two decades in private practice, in-house legal service and hands-on construction industry experience.

Grant Jordan, who arrived at Munsch Hardt as a shareholder, focuses his practice on guiding clients through complex projects, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts, counseling on the legal and practical aspects of construction business and operations, and analyzing claims and strategies, the firm said Thursday in a statement.

Jordan told Law360 Pulse in an interview Friday that he had "the privilege of working with Munsch Hardt" in representing a mutual client and that when the opportunity arose to join the firm, "I thought, this is amazing."

Jordan said he is excited about "joining forces" as he brings his experience as a former contractor and experienced construction lawyer to the full-service firm.

"That we can represent a client from start to finish all the way through a development deal, from drafting the partnership agreements, to entity formation, to site selection, to financing the design and construction, and then selling, upon completion, if that's what they want to do – I love having that start to finish capability," Jordan said.

Jordan said he is also excited about being able to "walk down the hall" and find a colleague with expertise in a different area of the law when one of his construction clients needs help with a matter outside his practice area.

"This is such a good firm and I am excited to be here," Jordan said, adding that he is also pleased with the support the firm has shown for his involvement in construction industry groups, such as Texo, the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of associated general contractors.

Jordan said he is involved in various area real estate commissions and construction trade organizations in the Texas metroplex. Some of those organizations are involved in lobbying Texas lawmakers for rules that benefit the industry,Jordan said, noting the state's legislature is in session every two years and that he enjoys being involved in those efforts which can have an industry-wide impact in the state.

Logan Adcock, co-chair of Munsch Hardt's construction practice, said in a statement, "As real estate development continues to accelerate across the region, the demand for highly experienced attorneys in construction and business litigation is rapidly increasing.

"Grant brings a rare combination of deep legal acumen and hands-on project management experience, giving clients a distinct advantage at every phase of their construction projects," Adcock said. "His arrival strengthens both our Dallas office and our expanding construction group, and we're excited to welcome him to the team."

Jordan also worked for six years as a solo practitioner, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before earning his law degree, Jordan was a project engineer for nearly six years at Hunt Construction Group. Jordan received his law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law. He holds a master's degree in construction administration and a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma.

In July, Munsch Hardt added Dallas-based shareholder Bradford Smith, a construction and commercial litigator who joined from Griffith Davison. In August, the firm named two shareholders, Mason Hester in Houston and Adcock in Dallas, as construction practice co-chairs.
