Overview

Matthew brings a strategic approach and a breadth of experience to his clients’ matters. He focuses his practice on business transactions with a particular emphasis on structuring, negotiating, and documenting the purchase, sale, leasing, financing, and servicing of assets, specifically in the aviation space.

He advises sellers, purchasers, investors, lessors, lessees, operators, and lenders on a broad range of issues relating to assets operating in the United States and abroad. Matthew counsels his diverse client base through all stages of a transaction and beyond, from due diligence and the negotiation of the commercial terms through the letter of intent, document preparation, closing, amendments, and lease returns.

Throughout his career, Matthew has closed aviation transactions involving more than 300 aircraft and engines, ranging from widebody jets to single-engine turbo props, on six (6) continents and in more than 25 countries.

In addition to his focus on asset transactions in the aviation industry, Matthew is active in the mergers and acquisitions space, typically representing small to mid-sized companies in the sale of their aviation-related businesses. Before joining the Firm, Matthew gained extensive trial experience in state and federal courts while practicing for more than a decade in Northern California.

    Represented a large family office in the purchase of a fleet of OEM aircraft for lease delivery to a South American operator.

  • Aircraft Fleet Purchase and Subsequent Transactions

    Represented the largest global turboprop aircraft lessor and its investors in the purchase of a fleet of twelve (12)
